MACEDON, N.Y. (Mar. 27) — For the first time, the Kyle Wyman Racing XR1200 rental program will be offering arrive-and-ride opportunities for events outside of the AMA Pro Road Racing Series. The first stop will be at Sonoma Raceway, May 1-2, 2014 for the AHRMA Vintage Road Racing Series.
The 2012 AMA Pro XR1200 Championship-winning race team fielded more entries than any other AMA Pro Road Racing team in 2013, with 44 total spots on the grid filled by KWR motorcycles. Expanding the program to AHRMA events will provide more opportunities for riders to experience the thrill of riding a professionally prepared Harley-Davidson XR1200.
“I’m really excited to be expanding our reach and introducing the XR1200 Rental Program to another series,” said Kyle Wyman, owner of KWR. “The motorcycle and brand are both special to me, and I really enjoy providing an easy way for people to show up and ride them.”
The Harley-Davidson XR1200, in AMA Pro-spec trim, will be legal in both the BOT (Battle of the Twins) Formula 2 and Formula 1 classes during the AHRMA Road Racing event. The schedule runs Thursday and Friday before the AFM weekend, which will host round 2 of the all-new Superbike Shootout series. XR1200 rentals will also be available during select twins classes of the AFM series.
“I hope to be competing in the Superbike Shootout race at Sonoma the following days,” Wyman added. “This new venture of bringing the XR1200 Rental Program out to the west makes sense for us. People in our industry have added more racing to our plates, so how can we make the most of it? I hope to make the most of it by getting as many bikes on the race track as possible.”
