The bodies of instructors and students will be well-protected at the Yamaha Champions Riding School: Alpinestars boots, gloves and back-protectors will protect ankles, hands, and spines. Kushitani and Heroic riding suits will protect the rest of the bodies and also be available for rent and purchase. Each of these three companies is stepping up to support YCRS as it opens the 2014 season at New Jersey Motorsports Park.
History is in play here: Kushitani riding gear supplied the Freddie Spencer High Performance Riding School during our 12 years in Las Vegas and Alpinestars protected YCRS during the first four years in Utah. As the school moves east, Heroic riding gear asked to be involved and joins Kushitani and Alpinestars to provide a three-pronged protection solution.
“Todd and Heroic have been protecting my young racers for years and I am a huge believer in the quality of the Heroic gear.” said YCRS’s Keith Culver of his youth road race team Evolution Racing. Keith adds, “We are trying to make the school turn-key, and having Kushitani, Alpinestars and Heroic rental gear available for only $75 per day is a big step toward that goal. And don’t forget, we’ve got Arai helmets in all sizes too!”
YCRS’s Nick Ienatsch says, “A huge thanks to Astars for the tremendous support over the last four years, and to Kushitani for how much they helped us in Las Vegas. Adding Heroic into this mix brings world-class gear to our new home in New Jersey. Each of these companies believes in the YCRS mission of improving riding in this country and they are outfitting instructors and students to that end.”
Kushitani’s foothold in America is strengthened with the addition of Si Maroun’s TT Motogear out of Georgia. “I’ve attended the Champ school and can’t say enough about the program. The entire industry needs to get involved with these guys. The direction they’re going with rider training is unbelievably good,” Maroun says. “Kushitani is a world-class product and I pushed hard to get involved with YCRS. I believe they are both the best in the world.”
