Hayden Gillim dominated MotoAmerica Stock 1000 Qualifying One (Q1) Friday afternoon at Brainerd International Raceway, in Brainerd, Minnesota. Riding his Real Steel Motorsports Honda CBR1000RR-R Fireblade SP on Dunlop spec tires, Gillim turned a time of 1:31.779 around the 2.5-mile circuit.
That lap time was 1.256 seconds faster than anyone else in the 37-entry field and it was fast enough to eclipse Gillim’s own All-Time Stock 1000 Lap Record of 1:32.068.
Benjamin Smith was second-fastest with a 1:33.035 on his FLO4LAW Racing Yamaha in spite of spending a significant amount of time in the pits dealing with a rear brake issue.
Bryce Prince claimed the third and final spot on the provisional front row with a lap of 1:33.212 on his BPR Yamaha.
Jayson Uribe was fourth with a 1:33.407 on his OrangeCat Racing BMW.
Ashton Yates rounded out the top five in the session with the 1:33.569 he did on his Jones Honda CBR1000RR-R Fireblade SP.
