Vargas And Tuned Racing Teaming Up For Daytona 200

Bakersfield, California – Tuned Racing and Roberto Vargas are proud to announce that they will be teaming up to compete in the Daytona 200 in March 2014. Roberto will be racing on a Tuned Racing Yamaha R6. Roberto is currently living in Peru but has competed in the United States before. In 2010 he even raced the legendary Daytona 200 under the lights.

Vargas: “We are very excited, and we are getting a lot of support here (Peru) and in the States! Fans, friends, and family are getting really pumped about Tuned Racing and I teaming up!” 

Vargas currently rides a Yamaha YZF-R6 600cc in Peru. After the Daytona 200 we would like to continue to race for the AMA Pro Series and in the WERA National Endurance Series.

Some of Vargas’ accomplishments: National #1 in the Supersport class in the Peruvian championship. ASRA Pro series 1st place in the solo challenge in October 2009 that took place in Daytona International Speedway. Also in 2009 finished 4th in class 5th overall in the first round of AMA MotoGT class and 1st in the 2005 SCRA Super Moto Florida series.

Tuned Racing Owner Mike Pond says, “Tuned Racing is extremely excited to have another rider on the grid, but most importantly we love to expand our Tuned Racing family. We cannot wait to watch Roberto’s talent, and effort show when he performs in the Daytona 200.”

Prior to the Daytona 200, Tuned Racing will be at Jennings GP in Jennings, Florida, for a test day with Roberto and the rest of the team including Tuned riders Bryce Prince, Jason Aguilar, and Mike Pond.
