Success in post season tests for Caterham Moto Racing Team Circuito Almeria, 19th November 2013 Bike # 5 – Johann Zarco – 72 laps Bike # 2 – Josh Herrin – 40 laps Track temperature: 17.5 – 21.9°C Circuit Length: 4.025 km Today marked the end of a four day test schedule in Jerez and Almeria for Caterham Moto Racing Team. Both riders exceeded the team’s expectations, posting competitive lap times, with Johann providing vital data on the 2014 Suter chassis. Reigning AMA Superbike Champion, Josh Herrin has adapted to the new bike and circuits amazingly well, leaving the second test in Almeria confident with both the bike and team. Johann is already a competitive Moto2 rider, bringing both experience and an analytical approach to riding to the team. Team Manager Johan Stigefelt “I am really happy that we have completed two successful tests before the winter break, which was vital for our new team. “We have had two fantastic days here in Almeria and completed a lot of work with Johann on the 2014 specification Suter chassis, meaning we now have a clearer direction for next year. “Johann has been riding fantastically from day one, without any mistakes and providing phenomenal feedback. We really could not be happier with his performance and he has great potential to be a high ranking rider next year. “Josh has gone from strength to strength and has learnt the bike and new tracks very quickly. He is naturally fast and will do a very good job next year. He is already comfortable on the bike, with a good riding position and should be very happy with his results. “I also have to say how well the team have worked together and I have full confidence in our abilities for 2014.” Josh Herrin “Today was really good for me and I improved my lap time by over a second. I exceeded my goal for today and feel so comfortable with the bike that I go into the winter fully confident for next season. “This trip to Europe has been big for me and really productive both on and off track. I have had a lot of fun with the team; we have all gelled really well together and built a strong relationship. “This winter I will continue my training and focus on making sure I am on top of my game, plus I can start getting excited about 2014 and my new adventure in Moto2.” Johann Zarco “Today I found the new chassis even more comfortable than the old one and my lap times were better, which I am very happy about. The team are also pleased with the information we found today, which is important for me. “We are getting to know the bike quickly, my mechanics are very good and I am really happy with the way they work and concentrate. “Finishing the season like this, with good lap times and feeling relaxed on the bike is a good sign for 2104 and I will definitely fight at the front and enjoy my next season in Moto2.”
