Shoei’s new RF-1200 is the lightest-weight, Snell-certified, full-face helmet the Japanese company has produced in its 55-year history. The key is a Multi-Ply Matrix AIM+ Shell that is more compact and more aerodynamic than its predecessor, the RF-1100. A three-position lower chin vent, three adjustable upper intake vents and four upper exhaust vents work together with the dual-layer, multi-density EPS liner to enhance improve ventilation and impact absorption. The 3D injection-molded CWR-1 faceshield is distortion-free, UV ray-resistant and has new ribs to increase rigidity to better withstand wind pressure and bending. The shield accepts Pinlock inserts and works with a new locking mechanism and QR-E base plate system, which allows for quick shield changes and a better seal with the helmet. The 3D Max-Dry System II interior of the helmet is fully removable, washable, adjustable, replaceable and part of Shoei’s Emergency Quick Release System (EQRS), which helps emergency personnel remove the helmet from a rider without creating unnecessary strain on the neck. Suggested retail price of a RF1200 is $485.99-$589.99, depending on graphics, from dealers. For additional info, contact Shoei Safety Helmet Corp., Dept.
