The 2013 Splitlath Redmond Racing Team is travelling again. Fresh from an inspiring 3rd place in the Le Mans 24hr race John Dimbylow and Derek Redmond are taking the team east to Macau, China for a very special event.

This year sees the prestigious, by-invitation-only, Macau Grand Prix celebrate its 60th anniversary and Splitlath Redmond are taking a very special package to the party.

Two thoroughly western riders – Americans Mark Miller and Brandon Cretu – along with its most exciting partnership of the year, the Erik Buell Racing 1190RS superbike, will make Splitlath Redmond not only a major player but also a very popular team with the fans craving something a little different to watch. Mark Miller has ridden for us since 2011 while young Brandon Cretu is widely considered as a rising star and will make a perfect partner to the more experienced Miller, both learning from and pushing harder the elder rider.

Since splitting from Harley Davidson Erik Buell has been free to develop his motorcycle as he wished it to be. The result is the 1190RS. Only 100 are being made, so this is a very special machine. At less than 176kgs and with more than 175hp from a torque-rich twin cylinder Rotax-derived engine this a perfect motorcycle for the tight Macau Grand Prix circuit. Splitlath Redmond will be giving the EBR 1190RS its racing début outside the USA, another landmark achievement for the team.

John Dimbylow – team co-owner: “Daring to be different means we can bring a motorcycling legend, and someone with a very similar outlook to us, Erik Buell to Macau with his exotic 1190RS. Everyone knows how fast Mark Miller can be, and with the charging Cretu alongside him, this will be a very exciting Eastern adventure.”

Mark Miller :”I enjoy riding for Splitlath and working with it’s crew because we all get on well, we can have a laugh but also put our best efforts forward when the time comes to get serious. My excitement to ride the Buell grows with every passing day, I’m really looking forward to it. “

Brandon Cretu “”I am really excited to partner with Splitlath Redmond this year at the Macau Grand Prix. Having two EBR1190RS superbikes with American pilots at Macau under the Splitlath Redmond umbrella is going to be a great story and we feel the bikes will be very competitive on the circuit. Macau can’t come soon enough!”
