Leonov, 48 More, from a press release issued by SBK Press Office: Kenan Sofuoglu (Mahi Racing Team India Kawasaki) took the victory in today’s World Supersport race at Silverstone, following what was a classic battle with Championship leader Sam Lowes (Yakhnich Motorsport Yamaha). Both pulled away from the rest of the field in the first part of the race, but it wasn’t until the last lap that the real fight for the win took place, as they swapped positions several times until a collision at Turn 14 left Lowes on the ground. While Sofuoglu crossed the line a lonely winner, Lowes was able to rejoin – thanks to the big gap – and to finish second. Fabien Foret (Mahi Racing Team India Kawasaki) was able to snatch third place on the finish line from Kev Coghlan (DMC Lorenzini Kawasaki) and ParkinGo MV Agusta Corse duo of Christian Iddon and Roberto Rolfo. Tough race for Michael van der Mark (Pata Honda World Supersport) who ran off track after colliding on Lap 10 with Florian Marino (Intermoto Ponyexpres Kawasaki) at Turn 1. The Dutchman finished the race in ninth place.
