RIDERS FROM OHIO, COLORADO TOP $119,000 FOR CHILDREN From Ohio to Colorado, motorcyclists rallied together on June 9 to help make a difference for children fighting brain tumors. Ride for Kids events in Independence, Ohio, and Golden, Colo., had raised more than $119,000 for the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation as of press time. The events honored young brain tumor survivors and their families. Motorcyclists’ fundraising efforts support the PBTF’s mission to eliminate the challenges of childhood brain tumors. “The Ride for Kids event is the highlight of my summer,” said Colin, a brain tumor survivor from Colorado. Motorcyclists fund research that makes it possible for many children with brain tumors to live longer, healthier lives, said Dr. Gregory Plautz from the Cleveland Clinic. “Thanks to the PBTF in the past few years, the brain tumor samples that have been provided have helped us advance our work. You are all instrumental in that achievement,” Plautz said. The Cleveland and Colorado events are still collecting donations online at www.rideforkids.org . Fundraisers will receive incentive credit through July 9. ABOUT RIDE FOR KIDS Ride for Kids is now in its 30th year of raising awareness and funds for the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation.
