The Motorpoint British Supersport Championship returns to Oulton Park this coming weekend (4/5/6 May) following a scintillating opening two rounds where 10 riders were battling for the victory and Gearlink Kawasaki’s Alastair Seeley leads the standings by just two points from triple race winner Stuart Easton. The Mar-Train Yamaha team celebrated the opening win of the season, following that with a double in the second, and Easton has a high hit rate of podium finishes at the Cheshire track; he will be aiming to overhaul his rival Seeley for the top spot in the standings. The Gearlink Kawasaki team have secured podium finishes at the undulating Cheshire circuit in the past and Seeley will want to extend his consistent run of podium finishes, however his team-mate Ben Wilson will be pushing hard to score his first win of the season. The defending champions Smiths Racing Triumph are also yet to score a victory despite Billy McConnell’s double second place finishes from the opening round, but defending champion Glen Richards will be hoping to bounce back this weekend as he bids for his first top three finish of 2013. Seton Tuning Yamaha’s Graeme Gowland is also aiming for his first podium of the season to build on his fifth position in the standings whilst Samsung Honda’s Jason O’Halloran is determined to move up the order following a recent test at Knockhill. Motorpoint British Supersport Championship standings after Thruxton: 1. Alastair Seeley (Gearlink Kawasaki) 77 2. Stuart Easton (Mar-Train Yamaha) 75 3. Billy McConnell (Smiths Racing Triumph) 66 4. Ben Wilson (Gearlink Kawasaki) 65 5. Graeme Gowland (Seton Tuning Yamaha) 41 For more information please visit www.britishsuperbike.com
