American Steve McLaughlin is the man behind both AMA Pro Superbike and the Superbike World Championship, submitting the proposal that led to the establishment of AMA Superbike in the 1970s and putting together World Superbike in the 1980s. These days retired racer McLaughlin spends most of his time living in Germany with occasional visits to the U.S. He’s seen here riding a horse on the ranch owned by fellow retired racer and Daytona AMA Superbike race winner Ron Pierce, near Bakersfield, California. Pierce took the photo from horseback last week.
