EXCITING NEWS AND UPCOMING RACE EVENT! WERA Motorcycle Roadracing and Pirelli Tires North America (Pirelli, LLC) have renewed their relationship and the 2013 Sportsman Series will again be Pirelli/WERA Sportsman Series. Evelyne Clarke, WERA CEO stated “Pirelli and WERA Motorcycle Roadracing have worked together for many years and their support of WERA Motorcycle Roadracing Sportsman Racing is unmatched. We are very happy that they have the faith in us to continue this support.” It has been many years since WERA Motorcycle Roadracing held an event at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course but 2013 will see WERA back at the prestigious facility. The Pirelli/WERA Sportsman event will be held during the week between AMA Pro and AMA VMD at the facility on Wednesday July 17 and Thursday July 18. This will be a double header event for the Northcentral and Northeast/Mid-Atlantic Regions but riders from all Regions will be welcome at this event. Schedules and further information will be forthcoming but riders put this one on your calendar! Events in April will include Pirelli/WERA Sportsman at NOLA on the 6th/7th; then on the 20th/21st Pirelli/.WERA Sportsman at Summit Point and also at Vegas Classic Course presented by Lucas Oil. Then Round #2 of the Michelin/WERA National Challenge at Talladega on the 26th/27th and 28th. This event will have WERA Practice on Friday, Round #1 of the WERA National Endurance presented by Lucas Oil on Saturday and the Michelin/WERA National Challenge Series Round #2 on Sunday. Lucas Oil has provided for a drawing which will be awarded at Rider’s Meeting to two random teams from each of the 3 Classes: Heavyweight Superbike, Mediumweight Superbike and Lightweight Superbike. Each of the Teams will receive $250.00 toward their Endurance expenses. WERA Motorcycle Roadracing was founded in 1973 and remains the foremost place to develop talent in the sport of motorcycle Roadracing. The legacy of Pro riders on a National and World level is legendary. All events are run by WERA Motorcycle Roadracing and they go coast to coast offering entry level racing with the Pirelli/WERA Sportsman Series as well as a Pro-Am Series with the Michelin/WERA National Challenge Series which includes the only traveling Endurance Series in the US using the World Endurance platform for most of the rules.
