Ride for Kids introduces online registration, personal fundraising pages The Ride for Kids program is celebrating its 30th year with a new website that offers online registration and personal fundraising pages, making it easier than ever before to help the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation. Online registration is now available for the first 10 events of the year: Albuquerque, Atlanta, Houston, Los Angeles, Louisiana, Middle Tennessee, North Carolina Triangle, Northeast Florida, South Florida and Southern California. Registration for future events will be online in the coming weeks. Early bird registration is just $40 per motorcycle and includes one ticket for the drawing for a new Honda motorcycle and other great prizes. Walk-up registration (day of event) is $50 per bike. The new website encourages participants to create personal fundraising pages that track donations in real time. Individual pages are fully customizable. Users can upload their contacts and email supporters, who can then make safe, secure online donations to the PBTF. Fundraising pages will continue to accept donations for 30 days after each event. Fundraisers will also benefit from a robust new incentive program that includes everything from a collectible T-shirt at the $100 level to a tablet computer at the $10,000 mark. Depending on how much they raise, participants will qualify for the T-shirt and one additional incentive, with a selection of prizes at different levels. “We’re excited about launching our new registration process, integrating fundraising pages into our website and offering a greater variety of incentive choices,” says PBTF President and CEO Robin Boettcher. “The new Ride for Kids website is a stronger tool for raising awareness and funds for one of the deadliest forms of childhood cancer.” To get started, go to www.rideforkids.org and choose your event from the clickable map. Not riding in the event? Register as a virtual rider to join the fight against childhood brain tumors. About Ride for Kids The Ride for Kids program is now in its 30th year of raising awareness and funds for the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation. These fun-filled, family-friendly motorcycle rides take place in more than 40 cities across the country. More than 28,000 children in the United States are living with the diagnosis of a brain tumor, and 11 more cases are identified each day. Motorcyclists have helped the PBTF become the world’s largest non-governmental source of funding for childhood brain tumor research. Our programs also include free educational information about brain tumors, Internet conferences and college scholarships. Ride for Kids is presented by American Honda, and our national insurance sponsor is GEICO. The 2013 Ride for Kids season opens on April 14 in Deerfield Beach, Fla., and San Bernardino, Calif.
