Walt Sipp and Tim Ivanoff’s Thrashed Bike Racing to race in the AMA Pro Vance & Hines Harley-Davidson series for 2013. Breaux Bridge, LA Thrashed Bike Racing rider Walt Sipp announced today that he will make a full-time return to the AMA Pro Road Racing Series this time racing in the Vance & Hines Harley-Davidson class. Walt has raced previously in Pro Thunder, Formula Xtreme, Daytona SportBike and Superbike, so this will be a new challenge all together. 2013 will mark Thrashed Bike Racing’s first full season with the AMA after entering three Daytona SportBike rounds in 2012. 2013 will not start without a little drama though. After sustaining a broken left wrist back in October, a doctor in his hometown misdiagnosed the severity of the break. Walt tested the wrist during a TrackTactics track day at NOLA Motorsports Park in January but showed very little in the way of healing. A visit was then made to Dr. Art Ting to have it re-set and plated. Sipp said, “Going in to the first round at less than 100% is never ideal, but I’m really excited to get to Daytona. Coming off a really good 2012 season that saw us win 5 races, set 2 class lap records and win the ASRA Pro Thunderbike and ASRA Team Challenge GTO championships we roll in to this year with a good bit of momentum. I have a lot of experience on air-cooled bikes so I’m optimistic about our chances on the XR. The races are close and exciting and the talent is deep so we’re looking forward to mixing it up.” Tim added, “It is looking to be a very competitive year in the AMA Vance and Hines/ Harley Davidson XR1200 series and we are thrilled to be able to compete this year. Expectations are to make the cut in the second half of the season and run to the finale. See you at the races!” Walt would like to thank personal sponsors: Bison Racing, KBC Helmets, Arlen Ness, Vortex, Sidi, Zero Gravity, and EC3D Compression. The team would like to thank Arrow Aviation Company and Avcal Decals for their continued support. Interested parties may contact Tim Ivanoff at [email protected]
