2013 QBE Australian Superbike Championships receive significant prizemoney and rider rebate and contingency boost Riders contesting the 2013 QBE Australian Superbike Championships (ASBK) will benefit from an injection of prize money and a range of contingency programs released today. International Entertainment Group (IEG), promoter of the ASBK, ensures a greater return to riders racing in classes across the board. 2013 will see an expanded prize pool, with $85,000 allocated to the six rounds, extending as far back as 12th place. Riders who contest the entire series will be entitled to a loyalty program payment of up to $300 for the Superbike and Supersport classes, extending the initial value of reduced entry fees. Naming-rights sponsor QBE will offer a new contingency program for successful Supersport riders who promote the brand on their helmet and motorcycle, with a pool of over $10,000 on offer. Tyre partner Pirelli will offer a range of contingencies and rebates for all classes, including a significant rebate on entry fees for competitors who run Pirelli-shod machines in the Superbike, Prostock and Supersport classes. Pirelli have injected a further $5,000 LINK dollars across the series in the 250 Production class to encourage budding road racers to pursue their personal racing goals at the top level. The Pirelli Privateer Contingency sees a free set of Pirelli Diablo Supercorsa SC tyres awarded to the highest place privateer in Supersport 600 and a set of Pirelli Superbike SC slicks (in small sizes) to Superlites. Yarrive Konsky, Director of IEG, thanked QBE, Pirelli and the series’ associated sponsors for their contribution and continued support of Australia’s premier motorcycling Championship. “After a successful 2012 campaign, IEG promise to deliver more to loyal participants,” said Konsky. “We have worked closely with sponsors to develop strategies to further aid riders and their personal growth in the sport of road racing. “These strategies will be evident in 2013 with a new injection of prize money, contingencies, and rebates.” The QBE ASBK is promoted and organised by International Entertainment Group (IEG) and supported by Motorcycling Australia.
