CHARLEVOIX, Mich. (Dec. 12, 2012) Champion motorcycle racer and owner Kevin Erion has teamed with ACAT Global to provide product development, sales and marketing for the company’s line of lightweight and efficient catalytic converter products to the motorcycle and powersports industries. “No one can match the success Kevin Erion and Erion Racing have had in road racing and his experience will be invaluable to ACAT,” said Joseph A. Moch, CEO of ACAT Global. “He also designs and markets his own line of high performance motorcycle exhaust systems, which makes him a natural choice to represent our high performance technology to the motorcycle and powersports industries.” In his new role, Erion will utilize his powersports expertise to work with manufacturers and exhaust system makers to create solutions for their emissions control problems. He will engage original equipment manufacturers as well as aftermarket exhaust system builders on ACAT’s behalf. Erion became the most successful independent team owner in the American Motorcyclist Association (AMA) paddock while overseeing Erion Racing (http://www.erionracing.com/ ). After winning two AMA national titles as a rider in the late 1980s, Erion won more national titles as a team owner than anyone in AMA road racing history, including seven Formula Xtreme Championships between 1997 and 2008. He also won two SuperTeams Championships in 1994 and 1996 and back-to-back AMA 600 Supersport crowns in 1999 and 2000. “I am very excited to be a part of ACAT Global at a time in the powersports industry when size, weight and performance have so much value,” said Erion. “I see this new technology a natural fit for both original equipment and aftermarket exhaust systems. With all the performance and environmental benefits the ACAT Global catalytic converter has to offer, I believe that eventually every motorcycle and product produced in the powersports industry will have an ACAT converter.” Erion will perform his duties for ACAT in addition to running the day-to-day operations of his 19-year old business, which provides premier products and services for motorcycle sport bike enthusiasts. He also runs a small leasing company specializing in Class A trucks for the motorcycle industry. Kevin enjoys traveling with his wife and three daughters in the family’s recreational vehicle. He also restores motorcycles, with his current project being a 1969 Triumph Bonneville. About ACAT Global ACAT Global LLC of Charlevoix, Mich., utilizes patented and proprietary technology and processes to manufacture the world’s lightest, smallest and most effective metallic catalytic converter substrates. The substrates, which use up to 30 percent less raw materials than the competition, improve efficiency while reducing pollutants emitted by internal combustion engines, fuel cells or any power source that creates emissions (from motorcycles to industrial facilities, such as power plants and oil refineries). ACAT Global strives to help clients meet their emissions reduction goals by providing solutions that comply with North American (U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the California Air Resources Board) and worldwide emissions policies.
