Positive testing days in Jerez for Avintia Blusens MotoGP Aoyama and Barberá score times close to those of previous G.P. The rain disturbed the last day of pre-season testing scheduled by Avintia Blusens MotoGP in Jerez which was curtailed to two days due to the state of the track and the cold. In spite of this mishap most of the tasks planned for this training practices has been carried out and teams and riders took advantage of this event to get started with the introductory work to the 2013 season. Since day 1 both Aoyama and Barberá have made obvious progress in terms of adaptation to the motorbikes and the new team. They both enjoyed a day with completely dry track conditions during which they were able to carry out numerous testing on the setting-up along with their respective technicians Tom Jojic for Aoyama and Giacomo Guidotti for Barberá. The whole team continued to work on Thursday and the setting-up and the sensations were improved as both riders managed to score better times and proved to be very competitive compared to the qualifying times scored on the previous G.P. of Jerez. Barberá still experienced chattering issues in spite of the improvements and dedicated the final part of the practice to try the Inmotec and convey his conclusions to the brand’s technicians. Aoyama was meant to try the Inmotec today but the rain caused the testing to be put off. These were very positive days for the team who are now aware that there is still a lot of work to be done but also that they can be very competitive in the next world championship. Hiroshi Aoyama: “On day 1 we took many tests in order to find out the right settings that suit my riding style. It takes a lot of patience as it is very important. Yesterday we managed to ride in a more continuous way after day 1´s hard work. The truth is we were very satisfied with this testing day both on the technical and human levels. I would have liked to ride today as well because we would have compiled further information so I could have improved my times. Anyway I am glad with the way things have gone in Jerez.” Héctor Barberá: “These were very important days because we hardly managed to ride in dry in Valencia whereas the track here remained completely dry for two days and we fully took advantage of it. It’s a pity it’s raining today as we couldn’t complete the test. On day 1 we worked on the setting-up and it influenced day 2 as we improved our times in spite of the considerable chattering. Today we had planned to try another chassis but the rain stood in the way of our plans. I am glad because the team and the technicians can get along pretty well and it is crucial to complete a good season. Now we are going to have a little rest and celebrate Christmas and we’ll resume work so we can be fully prepared for the season to come up.” Raúl Romero (Team manager MotoGP): “I am very happy with the way these testing days have gone. The rain didn´t allow us to complete the last day but in spite of it the overall outcome is positive. We worked on various aspects mainly with the chassis and control unit technicians and we are happy with the results. The riders were fast and rode only two tenths away from the best CRT in the qualifying practice of the previous G.P of Jerez. There is a good vibration within the team and sensations are very positive. We are going to work on many aspects where improvement can be achieved and it really motivates me for the upcoming season. Now we are going to rest a little so we can be ready for 2013.”
