Chris Ulrich and the Roadracing World Action Fund are holding the Annual Thanksgiving Weekend Two-Up Fundraiser during Fastrack Riders track day events November 24 and 25, 2012, (Saturday and Sunday) at Auto Club Speedway in Fontana, California.
Two-up rides are available to the public with a minimum donation of $50 to the Roadracing World Action Fund, a not-for-profit 501(c)3 organization which advocates and promotes the use of soft barriers to help prevent rider injuries at racetracks nationwide.
Two-up rides on the back of a two-seat AMA Pro Superbike piloted by Ulrich for two laps around Auto Club Speedway, are a thrilling experience for non-racers and club racers alike. Ulrich raised a record $4815 in 2011 when he gave 56 two-up rides, completing 184 laps–423.2 miles–over two days.
Ulrich will be giving two-up rides on his GEICO Suzuki GSX-R1000 Superbike from approximately 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. each day. Sign-up will be held at the track on the days of the event.
The Roadracing World Action Fund (RWAF) has raised over $1,000,000 and has funded soft barriers deployed throughout the United States, including about 130 30-foot Airfence-brand soft barriers (with a current replacement value of over $585,000) deployed at AMA Pro Racing road race and dirt track events. Hundreds of crashed riders have benefited from the placement of energy-absorbing RWAF soft barriers in front of walls and barriers lining racetracks.
