Lorenzo Wins BMW M Award For Best MotoGP Qualifier In 2012

In addition to winning his second-premier class title and fourth in total, Yamaha Factory Racing’s Jorge Lorenzo also won the BMW M Award as Best Qualifier of the 2012 season. With seven pole positions and a further seven front row starts, Lorenzo accumulated 361 points in the race for the Best Qualifier, 21 points ahead of Dani Pedrosa in second and 90 points ahead of Casey Stoner in third. Lorenzo took home the grand prize of a brand new BMW M3 Coupé Competition Edition. During the Gran Premio Generali de la Comunitat Valenciana Lorenzo was handed the keys to his prize by Thomas Schemera, Director of Sales with BMW M. It is the second time Lorenzo has collected the award, which he previously won in 2010. He was officially confirmed as the 2012 winner at Valencia, where he qualified in second position.
