Don Emde, Frank Esposito and Steve Johnson Re-Elected to Motorcycle Industry Council Board MIC Board Benefits from Consistency IRVINE, Calif. Don Emde, Frank Esposito and Steve Johnson were all re-elected to the MIC Board of Directors at the most recent election concluded in late October. With powersports backgrounds that range from magazine publishing and aftermarket manufacturing to distribution, all three returning members bring a wealth of experience and diversity to their respective roles on the MIC board. Emde has served on the board since 2001 and sits on the Aftermarket/Allied Trades Committee, the Marketing and Public Policy Committee and Discover Today’s Motorcycling Subcommittee. Esposito has been on the board since 2000 and is Chairman of the Aftermarket/Allied Trades Committee and Membership Task Force. He helped create the Revive Your Ride campaign and was instrumental in forming the American V-Twin Committee. Finally, Johnson joined the board two years ago and has been essential to aftermarket development programs, the Revive Your Ride campaign, Membership Task Force, Land Access activity and was one of the inaugural supporters of the Right Rider Access Fund. “Congratulations to Don, Frank and Steve,” said MIC President and CEO Tim Buche. “I’m pleased to welcome them back to the MIC Board of Directors. We are fortunate to have such a wealth of qualified, talented individuals who have the best interests of the MIC and its members at heart.” Going into 2013, Emde, Esposito and Johnson join elected directors, Chairman Larry Little, Vice Chair Mark Blackwell and Secretary/Treasurer Eric Anderson. The remaining directors, appointed by the maximum dues members, are Bob Gurga (Honda), Steve Bortolamedi (Suzuki), Russ Brenan (Kawasaki), Jon-Erik Burleson (KTM), Hans Blesse (BMW) and Dennis McNeal (Yamaha). The seats of Little, Blackwell and Anderson will be up for election in the Fall of 2013. The Motorcycle Industry Council exists to preserve, protect and promote motorcycling through government relations, communications and media relations, statistics and research, aftermarket programs, development of data communications standards, and activities surrounding technical and regulatory issues. As a not-for-profit, national industry association, the MIC seeks to support motorcyclists by representing manufacturers and distributors of motorcycles, scooters, motorcycle/ATV/ROV parts and accessories, and members of allied trades such as insurance, finance and investment companies, media companies and consultants.
