Jason DiSalvo, Jared Mees, Rick Doughty, Vince Friese, Marty Smith, Harry Klemm Jason DiSalvo, AMA Pro Daytona SportBike – Latus Motors Racing DiSalvo just finished off another season in the AMA Pro Daytona SportBike class wrapping up the year in 5th overall with one win for the season and six podiums. In 2011 he won the Daytona 200 on a Ducati 848 and then later in the season switched over to the Triumph Daytona 675R. He raced the entire season on the Triumph Daytona 675R in 2012. With all the variables including the Dash for Cash points available, (which Jared failed to qualify for at the last round), it was truly coming down to the last main event of the year. Despite some aggressive riding by his competitors he managed to finish 8th which was good enough to take home the number one plate. He finished with 291 points over Sammy’s 278. He also won the Singles Championship this year. In the past he’s won the Grand National Title in 2009, the AMA Horizon Award, the AMA Rookie of the Year, and the Twins Championship in 2011 just to name a few of his accomplishments. www.jaredmees.com Rick Doughty, Owner – Vintage Iron Works Doughty started his business back in 1990 when the vintage movement started to take off. His shop does everything from restoring all types of vintage motorcycles to selling bikes, apparel and accessories. His work on bikes runs the gamut from personal collections to having a bike displayed at the Guggenheim Museum. He races vintage bikes and holds 22 vintage national titles; he also helped to start the AHRMA program. www.vintageiron.com Vince Friese, Supercross Lites and Motocross 450 Rider Friese has been racing professionally since winning the “A” class at Loretta Lynn’s in 2008. Last year he rode for MotoConcepts in the West Coast Lites division with a 12th place overall finish, and in the 450 Outdoor Motocross series where he finished a respectable 18th in a stacked field. He finished off the 2012 season with a 12th at the Monster Cup. At the time, Marty made history by being the youngest rider to earn an AMA Motocross Championship title. He then went on to win two additional Championship titles in 1975 and 1977. During his career he has won 18 career nationals in 125cc, 250cc, and 500cc. Today Marty is focused on his family, his riding school and helping out with the racing effort at Slaton Racing. www.slatonracing.com www.martysmithmotocross.com Harry Klemm, Owner – Group K Harry has been in the Powersports Industry nearly 40 years. He started out working at motorcycle dealerships and eventually became Rick Staten’s mechanic on the factory CZ. From there he ran the R&D department for DG Performance for 5 years. Eventually he opened his own race engine development shop called Klemm Research where they built all the Kawasaki Team Green motors. After a buy-out he moved into the Personal Watercraft 2-stroke market and has been successful in engine development in that category ever since.
