WERA To Debut “Ed Sorbo International Invitational” at WERA West Las Vegas Round Finally, knowing Ed Sorbo has a payoff. WERA has agreed to test a new idea for a club racing class. Known as the “Ed Sorbo International Invitational” class, it is exclusively for racers who Sorbo invites to race. “I think most of us race because we like the battle more than we are worried about winning,” Sorbo says. “Therefore I want to build a class structure based on the riders more than the bikes.” If five people sign up and pay the normal class fee at the Nov. 3-4 round at Vegas, WERA will place the “Ed Sorbo International Invitational” race on the grid as a separate wave of an existing race. “You must be an Expert. You must be invited by me,” Sorbo says. “As I have not ridden the Vegas club track yet I will invite you based on who you are. If I don’t know you, find someone I know who will vouch for you or find me in the pits at Vegas. I’m looking for smart riders who are about the same speed as me when I ride my ’88 CBR600F1. Your bike is not a factor.” Apply by sending Sorbo an e mail at [email protected] Sorbo will send a list of invited riders to WERA. Racers invited to participate will practice in their normal practice group based on the bike. WERA will need a chance to work out the details so Sorbo expects participants to “be nice” to WERA.
