California State Championship Scheduled for November 3-4, 2012 with WERA West

The California State “Best of the West” Championship, presented by San Diego BMW Motorcycles, will be held on the weekend of November 3-4, 2012 in conjunction with the WERA West race weekend at Las Vegas Classic Course, in Las Vegas, Nevada.

The weekend’s activities begin Friday with a track day provided by Racer’s Edge Performance. This will be a good opportunity for racers to get some additional practice before the event. Gates will open at 7 am Friday morning.

Both Saturday and Sunday’s schedule includes a full slate of sprint races for this doubleheader event. Following the conclusion of the races on Sunday there will be a trophy presentation and the winners will be crowned.

In addition to the class champions, there will be an Overall Heavyweight, Middleweight, Lightweight, Sidecar, and Top Novice Champion crowned at the conclusion of the races on Sunday.

“I would like to thank the clubs for their continued support, and especially WERA for hosting the round this year,” says Shandra Crawford, California State Championship Organizer. “The changes that I made this year were based on racer feedback and taking into account all of the races taking place on the West Coast. I would also like to thank San Diego BMW Motorcycles for their level of support this year.

“It’s going to be a very exciting round, and the overall prizes this year are phenomenal. The Overall Heavyweight Champion wins a four-day Texas Tornado Boot Camp, the Overall Middleweight Champion wins a two-day Yamaha Champions Riding School, and the Overall Lightweight Champion wins a SoCal Supermoto School.

“I’d like to thank the series sponsors: Texas Tornado Boot Camp, Yamaha Champions Riding School, Cortech, Cycle Mall, Lee’s Cycle, Catalyst Reaction Suspenion, Racer’s Edge Performance, Twin Works Factory, LeoVince, GALFER, Driven, GPR Stabilizer, SBKPaint.com, Cycle Pirates, and RK Excel America.”

The state championship will be open to any racer 14 years or older with a valid race license from any race organization in 2012. Experts can compete for the overall and individual class championships. Novices will be competing for Top Novice.

Gates open each day at 6:00 a.m. Weekend entry into the event is only $20 on Friday or Saturday, and just $10 on Sunday. Tickets are good for the entire weekend, and there’s a special Military discount of 50% off admission with valid ID. Kids 12 and under are free.
