Preview Michelin Team Pro Series Round 7 Sanctioned by ASRA September 22-23, 2012 Virginia International Raceway Alton, VA 2012 Michelin Pro Series Heads Into Virginia For Round 7 Alton, VA The Michelin Pro Series moves to Virginia International Raceway this weekend with all six class championships up for grabs and left with even more riders in the mix for the 2012 ASRA National Championships. In Michelin Pro SportBike it is Florida’s Robbie Bright that leads the chase with just 2 rounds left. Bright holds a 12-point advantage over 2010 ASRA SuperBike Champion, Mark Miller Jr. from Maryland. Wisconsin’s Christian Meekma still has a chance to pull out the championship but with a 44-points deficit, Meekma must win and hope for some help from the rest of the field. The hottest contest all season is s the battle for the 2012 Michelin Pro ThunderBike Championship between defending Champion Ray Hofman from Wisconsin and class veteran Walt Sipp of Missouri, the current point leader in the title chase. Sipp, who has three victories to Hofman’s two this season, holds a slim 5-point lead going into the 2 final rounds of the season. Hofman will find himself behind the proverbial 8-ball this weekend as he tries to secure two Mid-West Championship Cup Series Championships at Blackhawk Farms Raceway on Saturday and then make the 850-mile trek to VIR. In Amateur Michelin action, Pulak Datt from Maryland has a 14-point lead over Ohio’s Carl Soltisz in SportBike. The SuperStock class has Brad Plemmons of North Carolina with an 8- point lead on Ryan Damm from Wisconsin and ThunderBike leader Benjamin Loyle of Pennsylvania leads New York’s Yuttichai Yasothonsrikul by 21 points.
