Top GEICO Motorcycle AMA Pro Road Racing Athletes to Visit Miami High School to Talk Helmet Safety M1 PowerSports to Donate Tickets to the School for this Weekend’s Event at Homestead-Miami Speedway DENVER, Colo. (September 18, 2012) – GEICO Motorcycle AMA Pro Road Racing teams and competitors are heading to Miami for this weekend’s M1 PowerSports-promoted Triumph Big Kahuna Miami presented by Dunlop Tire and LeoVince at Homestead-Miami Speedway, and three prominent riders will make their first stop in the South Florida area at Centennial High School in Cutler Bay, Fla. to talk helmet safety with students. Two-time defending AMA Pro National Guard SuperBike Champion Josh Hayes, his wife and fellow competitor Melissa Paris and rising star Tomas Puerta will meet with the teenagers on Wednesday afternoon beginning at 2:00 p.m. to explain the importance of wearing a helmet, whether you’re riding a bicycle or motorcycle. Professional motorcycle racers use road bicycles to train, which will give the teens a direct connection to the superstars of the sport and allow them to see that even the best riders wear protective gear. During the learning experience, students will get a chance to view all of the safety gear that the professional motorcycle racers will be wearing this weekend at Homestead-Miami Speedway, as well as an up-close look at a race-prep SuperBike. “South Florida is a new market for us and we wanted to do something to give back to the community,” said Cameron Gray, CEO of M1 PowerSports. “Safety is paramount in any sport, and we want to deliver that message to the youth in a way that will really drive the point home. Even champions were helmets; safety equipment is what allows them to push the limits of their athletic ability and attain their goals.” Centennial High School is one of the newest schools in the state and is situated just north of Homestead-Miami Speedway at 8601 Southwest 212 Street, Cutler Bay, Florida 33189. As part of the community outreach, M1 PowerSports will be donating tickets for this weekend’s GEICO Motorcycle AMA Pro Road Racing event at Homestead-Miami Speedway to the school. Each student will receive three tickets, one for themselves and two for their parents or siblings. The donated event tickets, which are good for the entire event weekend from Friday to Sunday, will also be provided to faculty and staff. Tickets for the Triumph Big Kahuna Miami begin at just $20, including FREE parking, and entertainment offerings are being added to the schedule by the day. Get ready for the Miami’s biggest entertainment experience in years and grab your tickets now at the M1 PowerSports Big Kahuna Miami event page, located at ~http://www.m1powersports.com/big-kahuna-miami/~.
