KTM/HMC Superbike Race Team Will Return to AMA Pro SuperBike Racing for 2013

Murrieta, CA–KTM Motorsports and HMC Racing, LLC are excited to announce their partnership to return with the KTM/HMC Factory Superbike Race Team to AMA Pro SuperBike Racing for the 2013 season.

In 2012, KTM and HMC launched their first full year as a team competing in the AMA Pro SuperBike Racing class. KTM/HMC’s Chris Fillmore, who is currently competing in the series, has been earning numerous top ten finishes as well as a top-five finish at Infineon Raceway. Mid-season the team brought over German rider and former IDM Superbike Champion, Stefan Nebel, to compete in select AMA Pro SuperBike rounds alongside his teammate on the KTM RC8 R. Nebel also saw growth each time he suited up and was soon breaking into the top ten.

For 2013, both parties have extended their relationship to announce the return of the factory-supported team to allow two full-time riders. “We have been extremely happy with the progress of the team during its first full-time year and look forward to further development of the RC8 R during the off-season,” commented KTM Product Development Manager John Hinz.

KTM/HMC Factory Superbike Team Manager, Mitch Hansen commented, “One of the things I am most proud of is that 2013 will mark the 10th anniversary HMC Racing, LLC has been working on racing initiatives with KTM. I am excited that we can now also extend the Superbike team for another year while increasing the program to two full-time riders. The knowledge we have gained in 2012 will help us tremendously with our program for 2013 and I am looking forward to next season.”
