THE RIDERS DISCOUNT VESRAH SUZUKI TEAM REBOUNDS IN RACE 2 ACTION DURING THE AMA PRO ROAD RACING WEEKEND AT NJMP. Jake Lewis displayed his fortitude by rebounding in Sundays Race 2 in the AMA Pro SuperSport class finishing on the podium in 3rd place during the American Red Cross Devils Showdown presented by Team Pro-Motion at New Jersey Motorsports Park in Millville NJ. Jake now lies in 2nd place in the 2012 AMA Pro SuperSport East championship, 20 points out of the lead. In the AMA Pro GoPro Daytona SportBike class Cory West came back from being taken out yesterday in Race 1, riding injured and putting in a determined ride to secure a 6th place finish. Joey Pascarella also improved from the day before bringing home a 13th place finish. Cory and Joey remain in 9th and 10th in the 2012 AMA Pro GoPro Daytona SportBike championship. In the National Guard Superbike Race 2 Taylor Knapp finished in 7th place on his Riders Discount K&L Supply Suzuki and Tim Bemisderfer got 15th place on his Vesrah Suzuki GSX-R1000 after running off of the track earlier in the race. More, from a press release issued by Dainese: Following a month hiatus since the AMA hosted Moto GP at Laguna Seca including an incredible win by Dainese & AGV’s James Rispoli, racing resumed this past weekend in New Jersey to kick off the final three rounds of the AMA Roadracing series with the American Red Cross Devils Showdown. Millville, NJ- Qualifying strongly and starting SuperSport Race 1 from second position, James “The Rocket” Rispoli made quick work of his front row advantage and immediately locked into a race-long battle for the win with Factory Triumph Latus Motors Racing’s Dustin Dominguez. The pair swapped positions dramatically throughout the race, unaware that Dominguez had received a 20-second penalty for passing Rispoli under a yellow flag. The heated battle raged on to the finish line with Rispoli earning the win. Using the month break to train riding supermoto, Dainese & Roadrace Factory’s Thomas Puerta took home 2nd place after a great battle with SuzukiScoopFans M4 Suzuki’s Elena Myers. Race 2 again saw Rispoli go head to head with Dominguez for the lead position. Hampered by multiple red flags which ultimately determined the outcome of the race, the two riders put on a thrilling show until the race was stopped at 19 laps due to a crash. The Rocket was awarded 2nd place, while fellow Dainese rider Thomas Puerta earned 7th while caught up in traffic. SuperBike Race 1 got off to a shaky start when the starting lights faulted. This didn’t stop Dainese & AGV’s Steve Rapp from getting a great start after qualifying strongly. Unfortunately, he crashed out of 2nd position after just two laps, opening the door for Dainese & Yoshimura Suzuki’s Blake Young to roll through. Fighting from deep in the field Dainese & Jordan Suzuki’s Ben Bostrom clawed his way up to 3rd position before battle ensued with Young. Both riders spent the month break working on their fitness, and it showed as the riders pushed hard for second place. Ultimately it was Ben Bostrom who crossed the finish line in 2nd place, with Blake Young only a bike-length behind in 3rd. Struggling to find a set-up that worked for him, Dainese & Graves Yamaha’s Josh Herrin brought home a solid 5th place finish. The action in race 2 did not disappoint as a great start by Ben Bostrom dissolved when Josh Herrin put on a hard pass that ran him off track and put him at the back of the field. Herrin took the advantage and ran a lonely race for a 2nd place finish. Bostrom spent the race picking off riders until he was within sight of the podium, crossing the paint in an impressive 5th place. Blake Young hung in the top 5 all race, highlighted by a battle with Dainese & Hero EBR’s Geoff May. The riders made contact entering turn 1 and causing May to go down at over 150mph. Young finished the race in 4th, and May sustained no injures as his Dainese Team Suit took the full brunt of the crash.
