David Dumain (Zongshen Racing – Zongshen), no time recorded More, from a press release issued by FIM: FIM e-Power & TTXGP Championships at Le Mans Miguel Duhamel leads after the first qualifiers Miguel Duhamel, guest of honour of this last round of the FIM e-Power et TTXGP Championships that will raise the curtain for the 24 Hours of Le Mans, topped the time sheets with a best lap in 1’49.200 on the Lightning of the Barracuda Racing Team. The Canadian rider, who made his mark in Endurance in the early 1990s and as AMA Superbike Champion in 1995, is lying ahead of the man to beat in this championship for electrically powered motorcycles, Matthias Himmelmann of the Münch Racing Team, who lapped in 1’50.834 in the first qualifying session. If you compare these times with those clocked up at this same circuit in the very first round of the FIM International e-Power Championship in April 2010, it is plain to see how fast this discipline has advanced. That year, Thomas Betti, the first e-Power champion in history, rode his fastest lap in the practice sessions with a time of 2’19.239. Behind Canada’s Miguel Duhamel and Matthias Himmelmann from Germany, the Chinese rider of Zongshen Racing, Ho Chi Fung, is lying just ahead of another German Katja Poensgen of the Münch Racing Team who is currently top of the provisional leader board. Christian Amendt, also of Germany, was held up by problems with his electric motor, and Tang Yu of the Zongshen Team was stymied by a crash. David Dumain, who is also riding in the 24 Hours of Le Mans, fell in the qualifiers and was unable to take part in these first e-Power practice sessions.
