Yamaha MotoGP Display Abuzz With Full Schedule Of Fan Activities At This Weekend’s Red Bull Indianapolis GP Cypress, CA August 15, 2012 Yamaha Motor Corporation, U.S.A., has brought its signature MotoGP Display for this weekend’s Red Bull Indianapolis GP at Indianapolis Motor Speedway. At Indy, the Yamaha display is located in the Speedway Infield between turns 9 and 10 of the MotoGP road course, and it will be filled with all kinds of fun activities for fans, of all ages and interests. Fans of performance and custom-built sportbikes will love the SSB Yamaha Custom Showdown Presented by Yamalube and Super Streetbike Magazine. The Showdown will feature ten of the hottest pro-built Yamaha sportbikes from the country’s premier custom builders, as well as ten very special custom Yamahas built by owners who wrenched on their bikes night and day to make them Showdown-worthy! Each pro- and amateur-built bike is vying for cash prizes and trophies, and you get to help decide who wins! Visit the Yamaha Custom Showdown tent at the Yamaha MotoGP Display, pick up a ballot from one of our Showdown Spokesmodels, and vote for your favorite pro and amateur built sportbike. When you cast your votes, you will be automatically entered to win a custom-modded Yamaha YZF-R6 by Super Street Bike Magazine. And then, be sure to come back to the Yamaha Custom Showdown tent at 12:45 on Sunday afternoon for the big awards ceremony! A favorite for kids and parents alike, the Yamaha Learn-To-Ride Program gives children under the age of 12 the opportunity to try out the Yamaha TT-R50and TT-R110 in a controlled environment, complete with instruction and supervision by trained American Supercamp staff. Whether a first-time or experienced rider, children of all abilities are encouraged to have fun on TT-Rs with their class-leading features such as electric start, automatic-clutch transmissions, and YZ styling. The TT-R Demos will take place Friday through Sunday from 9am to 5pm at the Yamaha MotoGP Display. Full safety gear is provided, and all riders will receive a complimentary photo of their experience. Have your photo taken while you strike a pose aboard Jorge Lorenzo’s #99 YZR-M1 MotoGP bike. A Yamaha staff member will snap the photo for you, and you’ll receive it as a memento of the fun time you had at the Yamaha MotoGP Display. At the YamaBucks Booth, you can step inside a swirling tornado of money. See how many YamaBucks you can collect before time runs out, and then use your YamaBucks haul to buy great Yamaha merchandise over at the Yamaha Apparel & Gear Tent. Speaking of the Yamaha Apparel & Gear Tent, support your favorite Yamaha MotoGP riders by purchasing their signature gear. Along with special apparel from MotoGP World Champion Jorge Lorenzo and his teammate Ben Spies, you can also select from a complete line of Yamaha Factory MotoGP Team gear and Yamaha Racing apparel in sizes and styles for men, women, and children. Also, be sure to check out the selection of GYTR (Genuine Yamaha Technology Racing) Performance Accessories made exclusively for your Yamaha by Yamaha. The display features a fully GYTR-accessorized YZ450F, YZF-R1, and Raptor 125, as well as the entire Genuine Yamaha Accessories product lineup. On Saturday night from 6-6:30pm, Yamaha and GE Capital welcome Yamaha Factory Racing MotoGP riders Jorge Lorenzo and Ben Spies, along with Monster Energy/Tech 3/Yamaha MotoGP riders Cal Crutchlow and Andrea Dovizioso, to the stage for a question-and-answer session hosted by popular MotoGP commentators Nick Harris and Gavin Emmett. Fans are encouraged to join in the fun with questions of their own for the MotoGP stars. Other attractions at the Yamaha MotoGP Display include the Star Motorcycles Lounge where you can check out the cool Star Custom Motorcycles on display, with many featuring Star Custom Accessories. Also, an Airbrush Face-painting and Tattoo Artist will be on hand all day on Saturday and Sunday to ink you up with your favorite design. All kinds of Yamaha-related stencils are available for tattooing, including the Yamaha 50th Anniversary logo. Nothing shows that you’re a Yamaha MotoGP fan quite like a little ink on your arm. With airbrushed designs that last about a week. Beyond the activities at the Yamaha MotoGP Display, on Friday and Saturday nights at the Indiana War Memorial in downtown Indianapolis, come see three-time reigning XDL Street Freestyle Champion Bill Dixon will compete aboard his YZF-R6 in Round 3 of the 2012 XDL Championship as he performs his winning combination of stoppies, burnouts, backwards wheelies, and much more.
