Kenny Noyes to Ride World Supersport at Silverstone American Kenny Noyes will make a wildcard start at the British round of the World Supersport Championship this weekend at Silverstone. Kenny, who has not raced in World Supersport since a one-off replacement ride in 2006, will be the only Suzuki rider on track. He is currently running third in the Spanish CEV Moto2 series, but has experience at Silverstone from his two years in the World Moto2 Championship. After being contacted by the WKbikes Hampshire Motorcycles team, Kenny tested the GSX-R600 at Silverstone and, last weekend, at Jerez de la Frontera. After the two days of testing at Jerez both rider and team were pleased with the results and the team returned to the UK where some final tweaks to the electronics will be made on the basis of data acquired in Spain. For Noyes the switch to the heavier but more powerful Supersport and the change to Pirelli tires is a challenge, but he enjoyed the boost in horsepower compared to the Moto2 class. Kenny Noyes: “I am looking forward to this weekend. Over the last few days I tested with the team both at Silverstone and Jerez. It was a trackday test at Silverstone with a lot of slower traffic and at Jerez the track temperatures were around 120 degrees, so it was impossible to make comparisons on lap times, but both the team and the bike are good and I felt very comfortable on the Suzuki. We´ll see how it goes at Silverstone and, if it works out, the team has offered a few more rides both in World Supersport and the BSB Supersport championships. That will be in addition to the Spanish CEV Moto2 where we are still in the running for the title.”
