The special bike will be on display all race weekend long in the Yamaha Marketplace at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca. The R1 will be autographed by Yamaha legends Kenny Roberts, Eddie Lawson, and Wayne Rainey, as well as 2009 World Superbike Champion and current Yamaha Factory Racing MotoGP rider Ben Spies, 2010 MotoGP World Champion and Yamaha Factory Racing MotoGP rider Jorge Lorenzo, along with current Yamaha Monster Tech 3 MotoGP riders Cal Crutchlow and Andrea Dovizioso. No purchase is necessary to enter. The Race 2 Embrace Crusade was formed through the vision of Zenza Life Sciences, a health & wellness company based throughout Asia with a passion to contribute to charitable causes. Zenza Life Sciences is making the R1 available for the giveaway. Race 2 Embrace is a non-profit organization that is passionate in assisting children around the world who have been gravely affected by the results of natural disasters. Race 2 Embrace strives to provide relief in goods and services for the immediate need and survival of children in these areas. This relief includes shelter, health care, nutrition, emergency facilities, education, and both social and emotional assistance. Through their affiliation with sports champions, past and present, they are dedicated to effectively raising awareness for this cause. The ambassador for the Race 2 Embrace Crusade is three-time AMA Grand National Champion and 1988 AMA Superbike Champion Bubba Shobert. Bubba is one of only four riders in history to win the AMA Grand Slam, which encompasses five different disciplines of motorcycle racing. He was inducted into the AMA Hall of Fame in 1998 and into the Motorsports Hall of Fame of America in 2007. Throughout Bubba’s career, he was so focused on racing that he wished he had time to devote to charitable causes. With his racing career behind him, he is now passionate about championing life through giving. “Natural disasters from all over the world leave children homeless and without families, food, shelter, and the basic necessities we tend to take for granted. I know there are more racing champions and celebrities like me who want to give back, and it’s our goal through the Race 2 Embrace Crusade to unite them and other people who care to participate in helping these children in need. I am so thankful for the support of Yamaha and their racing champions who are participating in our campaign,” said Bubba. “All of us are proud to offer our support to this worthy cause and also welcome Bubba to the Yamaha family,” commented Bob Starr, General Manager of National Communications for Yamaha’s Motorsports Group. “And we know all our Yamaha legends and current riders who will be autographing the R1 feel the same way. It’s truly a great cause, and with all those champions’ autographs on that limited-edition, red-and-white, 50th Anniversary bodywork, some lucky rider and Yamaha fan will be getting one extra-special R1!” Race 2 Embrace plans to expand its awareness beyond MotoGP to encompass motorsports champions and their fans in many other forms of racing.
