A win at Road America provides valuable information and substantial momentum as the Kneedraggers.com/Triplecrown Industries team heads to Barber Motorsports Park. When Stefano Mesa crossed the finish line in first place on Sunday at Road America, it confirmed that the Kneedraggers.com/Triplecrown Industries team had found the improvements in suspension and set up that they were looking for. With a new found confidence, this development team is looking forward to an exciting weekend at Barber Motorsports Park. The Kneedraggers.com/Triplecrown Industries team is loaded with talented riders such as 2010 AMA Supersport Champion Austin Dehaven, the recent Road America race two winner Stefano Mesa and the 2011 Barber race one winner Benny Solis. In addition to an already impressive line up, team owner David Brite is stacking the deck with the 2011 Supersport West Champion David Gaviria. Team Owner David Brite: “At Road America we had figured things out that we had been working on all season, mostly with suspension. We spent time working with the Ohlin’s guys directly out of their truck for a couple of rounds now and it looks like they’ve got it under control. All of our bikes have been upgraded to a newer spec which is what we have developed over the last two races with Stefano and Benny. I think the biggest change is feeling prepared; we’ve been chasing our tails with set up and finally feel confident going into Barber. Another reason I’m looking forward to this round is because we’ve added a new rider. We were looking for a new guy and found a connection to David Gaviria through Stefano Mesa’s family. I went through his results from last year which were pretty good and then I looked at this year where he’s had problems that I feel we can help him with. David will be in good company this weekend; Austin won a championship at Barber in 2010 and in race 2 at Road America he made huge steps in the right direction. Benny won at Barber in the Supersport class last year, Stefano is coming off a recent win and I think we have an opportunity to produce some impressive results at this track.” Austin Dehaven, Daytona Sportbike #56 “I feel like we made a lot of progress at Road America, not just with the suspension but the chassis and electronics as well. I’m really looking forward to this weekend, Barber has been a favorite of mine since winning the championship there in 2010 and my bike is performing better than it has all season.” Benny Solis, Daytona Sportbike #35 “I’ve been racing at Barber since 2007; I only missed it in 2009 when I was racing in the Red Bull Rookies Cup. I feel like I know this track pretty well. We’re going into this weekend with some good notes, we made improvements in the set up in Wisconsin and I feel comfortable with the tires. I’m getting into Birmingham early this week to get acclimated to the weather and time change; I’m really excited about this race.” Stefano Mesa, Supersport #37 “Barber is a track I know, so it should be good. I’m going to go out and do my best and try to win this race. My confidence is up after my first professional win and the bike was doing everything I wanted it to do. I’ve been pushing myself in my workouts and riding Supermoto in between races. I’m ready for this round.” David Gaviria, Daytona Sportbike #700 “I’ve been to Barber a couple times, it’s similar to the track that we have here in Colombia and I really like that track. So far this year has not gone as planned but I knew it was going to be a tough year because there is so much talent in the DSB class. Now that I have this opportunity to ride with the Kneedraggers.com/Triplecrown Industries team I feel that Barber can be my chance to turn this season around. These guys are passionate about the sport, they want all of their riders up front and I’m very excited to be on this team. I’m also fortunate to have Oakley of Colombia step up and sponsor me through the rest of this season; I’d really like to bring back a top 10 finish.”
