Pirelli /WERA West Sportsman Series presented by Lucas Oil At Willow Springs International Raceway This Weekend This coming weekend, June 15-17, 2012, the Pirelli /WERA West Sportsman Series presented by Lucas Oil will be tearing up the track at Historic Willow Springs International Raceway. The track is located approximately an hour north of Los Angeles in Rosamond, CA. This is WERA’s first time back since the last 24 endurance race held here. The weekend’s activities begin Friday with a racer practice and street-rider track day provided by Motoyard (http://motoyard.com). Both racers and non-racers alike will have an opportunity to turn some laps on the track beginning at 9:00 a.m. Friday morning. Saturday’s schedule includes morning practice, and a full schedule of Solo 20 and Vintage races in the afternoon. Sunday’s schedule is jam-packed with a full day’s worth of exciting and competitive sprint races. Motorcycle road racing doesn’t get much better than sprint racing on the 2.5 mile, 9 turn road course that’s one of the fastest tracks in the US. Gates open each day at 6:30 a.m and close at midnight on Friday and Saturday, and we race rain or shine! Weekend entry into the event is only $20 and tickets are good for the entire weekend. Ride your street bike to the event and you’ll pay just $5 for entry on both Saturday and Sunday! Kids 12 and under are free. Bring a cooler or visit the on-site snack bar near the front straight. Official WERA T-Shirts will be available, as will sign ups for the California State Championship 2012.
