Hansen, 41 More, from a press release issued by Geiger Media: Wyman wins Wisconsin on KLR Group Harley-Davidson XR1200 ELKHART LAKE, Wis. (June 3) — Kyle Wyman rode his KLR Group Harley-Davidson to a convincing victory in the AMA Pro Vance & Hines XR1200 class Sunday at historic Road America, holding off rival teammates Michael Barnes and Tyler O’Hara in a thrilling back-and-forth battle around the 4.05-mile circuit. It was Wyman’s second win of the year and the first for the KLR Group, which began supporting the 22-year-old just after his season-opening victory in Daytona, Fla. “This was such a fun race,” Wyman said. “Me, Tyler and Barnsie got away from the chase pack fairly early and were just going at it, squeezing each other’s arms when we’d pass each other, and just racing hard. We all wanted it and it was a fight the entire race. “My plan towards the end was to get out front and keep as much of a gap as I could because I knew they’d probably team up and make a double-run at me. I was able to answer all of their attempts and when I came around the last turn I just climbed under the paint to get as aerodynamic as I could be coming up the hill to the finish line. We crossed 1-2-3 right together. It was awesome.” With the win, Wyman closed to within nine points of championship leader O’Hara, with Barnes six points back in third. “I dedicate this win to Megan Nighbor, a special friend I met this weekend through the Progeria Research Foundation,” Wyman said. “It was Megan’s 12th birthday on Friday and we went out to eat with her and her family. I told Megan I was going to try my very best to win the race for her and it all worked out, so Megan, this one’s for you. “It’s so cool to deliver the first win to KLR Group, GK Motorsports, Planet Fitness and DVS, who all joined me after Daytona. I couldn’t do this without Gaston Kearby, my dad and uncle, Paul Diener from Spyke’s Harley-Davidson, Vesrah and Kuryakyn. There are so many people that help me and I’m blown away by the support.” Wyman will now have two weekend’s off before the Triumph SuperBike Classic, which runs June 22-24 at Barber Motorsports Park in Birmingham, Ala. “I’m excited to get home,” the New York native said. “I haven’t been home for two months. Now we’re racing in the east so we’ll have the chance to go home between races and work out of our shop. It’ll be nice for us to do that. The guys out west had their time, now it’s our turn.”
