Inside Motorcycles Renews As Title Sponsor Of Canadian Amateur Sport Bike National Championship

Inside Motorcycles back as Amateur Sport Bike sponsor TORONTO, ON National motorcycle magazine Inside Motorcycles has renewed its title sponsorship of the Amateur Sport Bike class for the 2012 MOPAR Canadian Superbike Championship season. Recognized as “Canada’s source for motorcycle news,” the magazine will once again contribute to the year-end prize fund for the class and promote up-and-coming riders through the magazine and the other media outlets of its parent company, Inside Track Communications. This is the second year Inside Motorcycles has sponsored the Amateur Sport Bike class. “Sponsorship of the Amateur Sport Bike class reaffirms our dedication to Canadian motorcycle racing at the grassroots level,” said David Weber, General Manager of Inside Motorcycles. “We enjoy shining the spotlight on the up-and-coming racers in this country and we are thrilled to be able to contribute to their success in this manner.” In addition to its sponsorship of the Amateur Sport Bike class, Inside Motorcycles will once again be producing the official souvenir program for the 2012 MOPAR Canadian Superbike Championship. The program will include previews of all six national classes and be available at every round of the series. “Inside Motorcycles has been a proud partner of Canadian road racing for some 15 years,” said Kevin Graham of series organizer Frontline CSBK Inc. “We are delighted to have them back on board with the Amateur Sport Bike class. It is an important component in our efforts to groom Canada’s future racing talent and the participation of a strong and loyal title sponsor has a huge impact.” Last season Kristopher Garvie of Caledon, Ont. won the Inside Motorcycles Amateur Sport Bike Championship riding a Kawasaki ZX-6R. He clinched the crown in the final weekend of the season at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park over Magog, Que.’s Samuel Proulx and Amzy Nawaz of Thornton, Ont. Previous champions of the Inside Motorcycles Amateur Sport Bike class, which was launched in 2003, include current national Pros Raphael Archambault, Cody Matechuk, and last year’s Pirelli Pro Sport Bike National Champion Jodi Christie. Saskatoon’s Brett McCormick, currently in his rookie season in the World Superbike Championship with the Liberty Racing Team Effenbert Ducati squad, launched his career in the national Amateur Sport Bike class in 2006. This year’s Inside Motorcycles Amateur Sport Bike Championship opens with the rest of the MOPAR Canadian Superbike Championship at Shannonville Motorsport Park June 22-24 and concludes with a doubleheader back at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park August 24-26.
