Narbonne, 40 More, from a press release issued by Gieger Media: KLR Group’s Kyle Wyman takes second in spread out XR1200 race in Utah TOOELE, Utah (May 28) Tight pack racing has become the hallmark of the AMA Pro Vance & Hines XR1200 series, but Monday’s race threw rider Kyle Wyman and just about everyone at Miller Motorsports Park’s BigM weekend for a loop when it shaped up into a game of follow the leader. Wyman, rider of the KLR Group Harley-Davidson, finished second on Monday as the field stretched out on the Miller course and tight battles never developed. “The race was pretty lonely, I think for all of us,” Wyman said. “That was probably the most boring XR race, I feel bad for the fans.” Wyman started second, and never found a way to stay close to pole sitter Tyler OHara, who led the eight lap event wire-to-wire and crossed the finish line for the final time 4.261 seconds ahead of Wyman. “I just kind of settled in,” Wyman said. “I did make a big mistake which caused me to lose some time. But from there, the last half of the race just stayed the same.” Wyman spent much of the race on an island because as he was trying to keep up with OHara, third place rider Michael Barnes was some eight seconds behind Wyman. “I’m happy to finish second again, it was a good race,” Wyman said. “The three of us, OHara, me and Barnes have been taking most the points, so we just need to keep doing what we are doing.” OHara stretched his series points lead to 16 points over Wyman, who moved into second with his finish. Wyman leads Barnes by a single point heading into this weekend’s race at the Subway SuperBike Doubleheader at Road America in Elkhart Lake, Wis., June 1-3.
