Ryan Peters is auctioning his 2010 Aprilia SXV 5.5 supermoto-style track day bike on eBay and donating 100% of the proceeds of the sale to the Roadracing World Action Fund to honor the memory of fallen NESBA control rider Michael Moore. Moore crashed during a track day event November 6, 2011, at New Jersey Motorsports Park and hit an unprotected steel barrier. Three days later he was removed from life support and died from the head injury he sustained. “Chris [Pontrelli] and I were the other two motard riders that went out with Mike the day of his crash,” Peters wrote in an e-mail to Roadracingworld.com. “It hit both of us really hard and could have happened to any of us. I know we’d both donated directly [to the Roadracing World Action Fund] and Chris laid the groundwork for an upcoming fundraiser. “I’ve had my Aprilia for sale for a couple of months – it’s just not the same without the whole trio of us out there. It struck me that the best thing to do, the right thing to do, was to auction it off and donate all of the funds to the Action Fund. One of the reasons I listed it on eBay with their ‘Giving Works’ program was so that it was really clear that the money was going where I said it would.
