FANS INVITED TO WALK AROUND BARBER WITH STARS OF AMA PRO ROAD RACING SERIES Birmingham, Ala. (May 16) Fans attending the opening day of the Triumph Superbike Classic at Barber Motorsports Park will be allowed to walk the picturesque track with the stars of the AMA Pro Road Racing Series. The track walk will be free to all ticket holders on Friday, June 22nd and ZOOM Motorsports, the exclusive event promoter at the Barber Motorsports Park, will donate a portion of the day’s ticket sales to the Roadracing World Action Fund. Some of the riders expected to participate in the track walk are Triumph riders Jason DiSalvo and Dustin Dominguez, as well as National Guard SuperBike rider Roger Hayden. The Riders Discount Vesrah Suzuki riders Jake Lewis and Cory West also have committed to the track walk. More than a dozen riders participated in last year’s walk at Barber, including two-time Superbike champion Josh Hayes. “This is such a great opportunity for the fans,” said Rick Humphrey, Vice President of ZOOM Motorsports. “There are not many sports where fans get to walk the actual field of competition with the competitors. After last year’s track walk, the response from the fans and riders was incredible. We have every reason to believe this year’s track walk will be even bigger.” The Roadracing World Action Fund’s mission is to help prevent racetrack injuries. Specifically, the Roadracing World Action Fund advocates, promotes and is involved in the deployment of soft barriers to help prevent racetrack injuries. It also provides education on the value of adequate pre-race practice, rider training, and proper racetrack preparation. Set for June 22-24, the Triumph Superbike Classic is the sixth event of the season for the AMA Pro Road Racing Series and marks the 10th season the 2.38-mile facility has hosted the series. The weekend will consist of seven races and three days of action-packed activities on the track, as well as off the track. In addition to the two marquee National Guard Superbike Series races, the weekend will feature two races in the GoPro Daytona SportBike class, Motorcycle-Superstore.com SuperSport class and one race in the Vance & Hines XR1200 Series. Tickets for the Triumph Superbike Classic start at just $15 and can be purchased at www.barbermotorsports.com. Kids 15 and under are admitted free with a ticketed adult. The Motorcycle Super Saver package is available until June 21st with access to three motorcycle events at Barber Motorsports Park in 2012, along with complimentary motorcycle parade laps during the Triumph Superbike Classic. While at Barber Motorsports Park, fans are encouraged to visit the Barber Vintage Motorsports Museum, a 144,000 square foot home to the largest private collection of motorcycles, representing 20 countries and over 200 manufacturers.
