Motorcycle Racing On Tap at Miller Motorsports Park This Weekend WERA, Masters of the Mountains to Compete TOOELE VALLEY, UTAH (May 16, 2012) – The month of May is the best of times for motorcycle racing enthusiasts in Utah and throughout the Intermountain West. This weekend, May 19-20, as an appetizer to the annual visit by the FIM Superbike World Championship to Miller Motorsports Park on Memorial Day weekend, motorcycle fans can enjoy a weekend of two-wheeled competition as WERA Motorcycle Roadracing takes to the track. WERA is the largest non-professional motorcycle racing club in America and was the first public race event held at Miller Motorsports Park in 2006. This weekend’s event will attract upward of 200 of the country’s most promising up-and-coming riders for the fourth round of their 2012 championship. The event will feature the WERA National Endurance Series, the Michelin/WERA National Challenge Series and the Pirelli/WERA West Sportsman Series presented by Lucas Oil. The WERA riders will be joined by the competitors of the Masters of the Mountains series, MMP’s local motorcycle road racing championship operated by the Utah SportBike Association. After practice and qualifying on Saturday morning, the WERA racers will take to the high-speed, 3.048-mile Outer Course for the six-hour WERA National Endurance Series event, which gets the green flag at 11:30 a.m. National Teams like BEI Racing/Dunlop Development Team and TVR will take on local teams like Paradigm Racing, Jolly Roger Endurance, The Wolf Pack, Team BSGP and BSGP Racing along with a host of local riders who plan to make the most of six hours on their home track. Sunday will feature sprint races for the Michelin/WERA National Challenge and Pirelli/WERA West Sportsman Series presented by Lucas Oil, including riders from the Masters of the Mountains Series. There will be 15 races starting at noon. In addition, the Miller Kart Track will have karts available for rentals after noon on both days, and Miller Motorsports Park’s exciting Zip Line will be in operation. Tickets for the weekend are priced at $6 per day for adults. Friday offers free admission to everyone, and kids 12 and under are admitted free of charge throughout the weekend. As always, we offer a 50-percent discount to military personnel. For more information about WERA, visit their website at www.WERA.com.
