Just A Little Off The Top: Yamaha U.S. Road Racing Teams Head To Infineon For Great Clips West Coast Moto Jam Cypress, CA The Yamaha U.S. Road Racing Teams are traveling north to California’s wine country, which is the site of this weekend’s Great Clips West Coast Moto Jam at the 2.32-mile, 11-turn Infineon Raceway in Sonoma. MONSTER ENERGY/GRAVES/YAMAHA: HAYES IN THE LEAD Two-time reigning AMA Pro National Guard SuperBike Champion Josh Hayes, who is once again leading the SuperBike Championship points standings, returns to Infineon Raceway, a track on which he’s always done well. In his past six races at Infineon””all of them aboard his crossplane-crankshaft Yamaha YZF-R1®””Josh has notched two pole positions, four wins, a second, and a fourth. Last year at Infineon, Josh won the pole position, won Saturday’s race, and finished second to Tommy Hayden in Sunday’s race. Josh’s Monster Energy/Graves/Yamaha teammate Josh Herrin is coming off two podium finishes at Road Atlanta, and he’s looking to continue the trend of putting himself and his #2 R1 “on the box” in his rookie SuperBike season. Josh has already developed a special knack for launching his R1, and he’s quickly developed a reputation as the “holeshot king” of the SuperBike class. YAMAHA EXTENDED SERVICE/GRAVES/YAMAHA: BEAUBIER’S BACK In AMA Pro GoPro Daytona SportBike competition, the Yamaha Extended Service/Graves/Yamaha team will be back to a two-rider lineup as Cameron Beaubier makes his return from a non-racing injury to join Tommy Hayden. Cameron, who finished third in the Daytona 200 aboard his #6 Yamaha YZF-R6®, is obviously excited to return to racing, especially at Infineon, which is the Roseville, CA, rider’s home track. Tommy Hayden, who is currently third in the DSB championship points standings and just two points out of second place, will also be in action aboard the #8 R6. Throughout Tommy’s racing career, he’s always done well at Infineon Raceway. In fact, just last year at Infineon, Tommy finished second to Josh Hayes in SuperBike Race 1 on Saturday, and then he followed that up by winning Sunday’s SuperBike Race 2. Tommy is still filling in for Garrett Gerloff, who is recuperating from the leg injury he suffered at Daytona. TUNE INTO SPEED TV Infineon Raceway is a scenic and exciting venue in which to see the Yamaha U.S. Road Racing Teams live and in person, but if you can’t make it to the track, be sure to watch all the action on Speed TV.
