UtahSBA ‘Racing Experience Program’ continues to evolve for 2012 April 16, 2012. Tooele, Utah They say, ‘Nothing can prepare you for the excitement and thrill of motorcycle racing.’ At the Utah Sport Bike Association (UtahSBA) we beg to differ. The Utah Sport Bike Association is pleased to announce the return of the Racing Experience program for the 2012 season. In 2011, the Racing Experience program provided a low-cost option for trackday riders to dip their toes in the water and experience the thrill of road racing at America’s premier road racing facility, Miller Motorsports Park. For 2012 the UtahSBA is continuing the tradition of helping new racers by growing the Racing Experience program and offering an opportunity that no other racing organization in the country is providing; a graded and educational approach to assist new racers get a taste of the thrilling sport of motorcycle roadracing. Safety: The UtahSBA Racing Experience is held every Saturday of a race weekend in conjunction with the Master of the Mountains race series, and is run exclusively at Miller Motorsports Park in Utah. This shall include both track sessions and classroom time. The Racing Experience instructors are veteran racers and are committed to introducing new racers to the sport by gradually preparing them for the adrenalin rush and chaos of real competition. Mentors: Starting in 2012, the UtahSBA Racing Experience is introducing a mentor program. Each graduate of the class will be assigned to an experienced racer within the club to act as a mentor. The mentors are typically expert level riders with many years of racing experience that graduates can draw upon. This will also help new racers find their place in the local racing community, gain confidence, and help focus their priorities at the track. My First Sponsor: One of the unique benefits of the UtahSBA Racing Experience program is our new Sponsorship program. Each student that passes the New Racer Certification at the end of the school will be eligible to receive sponsorship contracts from several local vendors. This is a tremendous benefit to the new racers as it will help ease the cost of getting into the sport as well as help them to build relationships with their local shops. Cost: Possibly the best part of the UtahSBA Racing Experience program is the cost. Just $200 gets you everything mentioned above plus, membership in the Utah Sportbike Association, on-track practice sessions, classroom instruction, entry into a mock race with your fellow students, and when you pass the New Racer Certification, the opportunity to compete in the Masters of the Mountains race series the following day! Brian Childree, Director of New Racer Development, said Monday, “We’ve made some changes to our Racing Experience program which will really add a lot of value for the students. Everyone who comes through our program is going to be amazed at what they get out of it. Where else are you going to get a club membership, excellent classroom instruction, track time on the best race track in the country, an experienced racing mentor, a mock race and sponsorship offers before your first novice race, all for 200 bucks? Pretty tough to beat I think.” For more information please visit: www.utahsba.com www.utahsba.com/racing/nrc/ ~http://www.millermotorsportspark.com/~ 2012 Race Calendar April 21-22: Miller Motorsports Park West Course May 19-20: Miller Motorsports Park Perimeter Course (In conjunction with WERA.
