DENVER, Colo. (April 16, 2012) – Rickey Gadson, the most recognized face in motorcycle drag racing, will be on-hand April 20-22, 2012 when M1 PowerSports and AMA Pro Road Racing return to Braselton, Georgia’s Road Atlanta for the Triumph Big Kahuna Atlanta presented by Dunlop Tire and LeoVince. To give fans a sense of the straight-line power of the 2012 Kawasaki ZX-14R, Gadson will take out his eye-catching green machine for a series of drag demos to ring in the event weekend. “The Big Kahuna was built on bringing out the best of the best in the motorcycle world and having Rickey in attendance will make a lot of fans happy,” said Cameron Gray, CEO of M1 PowerSports. “His desire to take it to the top of his game is something that I personally respect and strive for myself. He’s going to deliver another dimension of excitement to the Big Kahuna fans and we’re glad to have him on board.” Nine-time World Champion Gadson is the most accomplished Professional Drag Racer in AMA Prostar Drag Racing history and is credited with over 146 wins in national events. To kick off the weekend and give fans an early taste of two-wheeled excitement, Gadson will take the ‘world’s fastest accelerating production motorcycle’ for a few top speed runs down pit lane during the SportBikes Inc Magazine Kick-Off Party at Road Atlanta on Thursday night, April 19, 2012. For those that can’t make the Thursday night preview, Gadson will make a few additional full throttle passes during the Friday Night Fan Party. All weekend long fans can catch up with the Philadelphia native and try out his Reaction Time Drag Simulator in the Café Racer Village, where he will have a display area near fellow Kawasaki superstar Jason Britton. “I’m glad to be a part of the Big Kahuna Atlanta,” said Gadson. “M1 has managed to put all the top guys in motorcycling together for one great event. The Big Kahuna is definitely more than just a race… You can’t miss this. It’s gonna be awesome!” Tickets for the Triumph Big Kahuna Atlanta begin at just $20 and that event is just the first of three M1 PowerSports-promoted events on the 2012 AMA Pro Road Racing calendar which make up the 2012 Triumph Big Kahuna Triple Crown. Originally spawned from Daniels Corporation under the name FAST, the fledgling company was heavily involved in television production for car and motorcycle racing. With the birth of Speedvision, FAST morphed into Race Promotion Management (RPM) and is now operating as M1 PowerSports with many of the same staff still in place. We still sell advertising for Speed, sell merchandise under the brand Moto 1 and promote our own events, keeping us busy year-round!
