BMW Motorrad HP Race Support Available For Customer Race Teams In 2012

BMW S 1000 RR seeks titles across the globe. 2012 will see BMW customer teams contest numerous championships with the support of BMW Motorrad HP Race Support. Munich. Spring has sprung, and with it the racing season has come to life across the globe. Numerous BMW teams will contest race victories and titles with the 2012 BMW S1000RR, with many benefitting directly from the support of BMW Motorrad HP Race Support. With the establishment of this specialist department in 2011, BMW Motorrad 2011 further expanded its customer sport programme, thus contributing to the worldwide success record of the RR. The specialist department provides customer teams with track side support and engineering support, plus supplies performance parts. The programme is expanding continuously, and will in future include complete race engines. BMW Motorrad France Team Thevent will represent BMW Motorrad in the FIM Endurance World Championship, having last year achieved a first win in the world championship as well as the first championship lead for the Bavarian manufacturer’s RR. In the final round at Doha (QAT) the team narrowly missed out on taking the title, ending the 2011 season in second place. For this season overall championship victory is the obvious target. Team BMW Motorrad France Team will also contest the French Superbike Championship, and scored two second places in the opening round at Le Mans (FRA) with Sébastien Gimbert (FRA) in the saddle. Various teams will contest the International German Motorcycle Championship IDM with the support of BMW Motorrad HP Race Support. In 2011 BMW won the manufacturers’ title in this tightly contested series. BMW Motorrad customer teams will also mount strong campaigns in the British Superbike Championship (BSB), the North American AMA Championship, as well as in the Australian and South African Superbike Championships. In addition, BMW teams will take the start with the BMW S1000RR in national championships in a host of other countries, including Scandinavia, Canada and Belgium, with a view to repeating the race victories and title successes of previous years. “Successes dictate – and that dictum not only applies to teams and riders who globally won races and championships in past seasons with the BMW S 1000 RR. It is also incumbent upon us at HP Race Support to support these teams in future through bringing our side in order to enable them to continue being successful,” says Berthold Hauser, Head of the BMW Motorrad HP Race Support specialist department. “We also know that the competition has become stronger, which provides us with increased motivation to apply our know-how and build on our relationships in global markets and with race teams in order to strengthen and intensify our support. We are looking forward to the new season and continued success for all BMW teams and riders.”
