THE PEDERCINI TEAM CONCLUDES TWO-DAY ARAGON TEST The Pedercini Kawasaki team has spent the last two days on track at the Motorland Aragon in Spain. In the two days of test all the Superbike and Superstock Pedercini team riders, made strong progress on board their Ninja ZX-10R race bikes. Tati Mercado have found the two day test of benefit and look forward to his first race of the season in Imola, for the second round of the Superbike World Championship. The 20 years old rider sustained a fracture of the right radius after a crash on his Supermoto bike during a training session four months ago in Argentina and as a consequence Mercado missed the Australian Round. Despite low temperatures and a strong wind, during these two days test Tati was able to run for more than 100 laps, building up confidence with his ZX-10R. Due to a fracture to his right wrist, Salom ran only for seven laps in the second day of test. According with the team, David preferred not to take risks, considering that after only two weeks he’ll race in Imola for the World Superbike second round. Pedercini took in Spain also all two of their Superstock riders, Bryan Staring and Jeremy Guarnoni. The French riders used the time to develop his relationships with his new bike while Staring returned on his Kawasaki ZX-10R stock version after two excellent Superbike races in Phillip Island where he replaced injured Mercado. Bryan spent both days of testing working on the suspension and chassis settings of his Kawasaki ZX-10R. Both Superstock riders put in good lap times. Tati Mercado : “After the crash in Argentina on my supermoto bike and a surgical operation, I’ve been doing a lot of physiotherapy in order to get back into shape as quickly as possible and in time for Imola. I’m not sure that my wrist will be 100% by the Imola race weekend, but I’m confident I’ll be ready for the races. The whole Aragon test has been great for me. It was very important to work with my team and return on board my Kawasaki motorbike after four months. I’m very happy because I find immediately a good feeling with the bike and the team. Of course there is still lots to be done, but the outcome is already very good. I’m really looking forward to my first Superbike race in Imola and I hope to start the 2012 Superbike championship in the best possible way”. Donato Pedercini :”I’m happy because the tests went well. We didn’t have any notable problems and the test gave us a very good feeling. Despite low temperatures and a strong wind we did a very good job with Mercado and we have improved the bike quite a bit, the whole package. Tati continued the job of gathering experience on board the Kawasaki ZX-10R Superbike machine. Over the two days his feeling with the bike has gradually improved and he was able to score some very fast lap times, very close to the fastest riders. Salom finished only seven laps in the second day. He want only to test his wrist after the surgical operation. He’s not feeling pain and it seems he’ll be able to race in Imola. David tested the new electronic, collecting some important data that we’ll use in Imola. Guarnoni is really enthusiastic to be part of our team and I’m sure he’ll reach some good results in the next Superstock 1000 FIM Cup. In the second day he scored some fast lap times. It was not so easy for Staring to return on his Stock bike after the last two Superbike races in Australia, but in the second day he found a good rhythm and he was able to improve his pace and set some good lap times. We’ll continue to work on both Superbike and Superstock bikes to be ready for next Imola race weekend”.
