Kerr, 11 More, from a press release issued by Michael Jordan Motorsports: Celtic Orient Express Racing’s James Rispoli Claims First Supersport Win Of 2012 Season At Daytona DAYTONA, FLORIDA (March 16, 2012) James Rispoli, the 2011 AMA SuperSport reigning champion and #1 plate holder, emerged victorious after a 10-lap opening round battle of the 2012 Motorcycle-SuperStore.com season in race one at Daytona. Starting on the front row in second position beside teammate and pole sitter Corey Alexander, Rispoli guided his Celtic Orient Express Racing GSXR 600 through a dense lead pack of eight riders. Rispoli used the draft to his advantage and also skillful riding, to remind everyone why he took home the 2011 Championship. Corey Alexander rode a close race in the lead pack, starting from pole position on his #5 National Guard Fairhills Group GSXR 600 and battling for position the entire race before finishing a strong fifth. James Rispoli described the race and first win of the season saying “I got a good start to the race, and was able to string together some consistent laps from the beginning, at a comfortable, easy pace. As the race went on, it was clear that the Celtic Orient Express GSXR 600 had good power, which allowed me to pull away from the other riders. I tried to remain consistent as the close of the race approached, and I finally took a peak on the west banking and saw seven bikes behind me. I knew I would have to hit the chicane as fast and perfect as I could, and get a good drive out to stay in front. The lapper certainly helped with my strategy. I’m really happy to bring home this win for all the guys on my team and crew – many thanks to Barry, William, Eric, Dustin and everyone who helped make this possible!” The second Motorcycle-SuperStore.com SuperSport race is Saturday morning and is also ten laps in length. The race will air on www.Speed2.com at 9:50am Eastern time – please check the site for coverage. Both Celtic Racing Suzuki GSXR 600’s showcase the best in road racing technology.
