RacerRuss Motorsports to field a Harley-Davidson XR1200 in the Eastern AMA rounds for 2012 Wake Forest, NC: RacerRuss Motorsports will change classes for 2012, moving from AMA Pro SuperSport to contest the growing AMA Pro Vance & Hines XR1200 class with rider Russ Proctor. Fresh off the team’s inaugural season on the AMA Pro Road Racing circuit, 47 year old Proctor hopes to turn the lessons learned in 2011 into improved performance in 2012. The team has set the goal of achieving consistent results that will lead to a top 10 points position for the season. The rules of the class ensure a privateer team can field competitive equipment; for RacerRuss Motorsports, that is in the form of an Ohlins-equipped XR1200. RacerRuss Motorsports is thrilled to be part of the excitement generated by the Vance & Hines Harley-Davidson series. The H-D name resonates with all motorcycling enthusiasts, generating excitement outside of the track, in the paddock and on the pit walks. The iconic brand attracts new fans that are treated to electrifying racing with results that are not typically settled until the checkered flag falls.
