After winning the AMA Pro Supersport Championship in their rookie season ANT Racing Motorsports has made the difficult decision to not field a Pro Super sport team in 2012. In a statement from team Owner and Manager, David Ashi he said “the decision to pull out of the Supersport class was based on our wishes as well as our sponsors wishes to move up to the Daytona Sport bike class.” ANT Racing Motorsports has decided that they will not continue its sponsorship of James Rispoli who decided to stay in Supersport for his final year before moving up to DSB in 2013. Ashi has also not ruled out the possibility of fielding a new DSB team in 2012. “The sponsorship dollars are in place.” Ashi said “We have everything we need to offer a rider a full paid ride in 2012 and 2013.” He went on to say “The off season has been good to us once again as we were able to sign a two year partnership deal with a large corporate sponsor. However, as previously mentioned, this sponsor along with a few of our current sponsors desire to move up in class. We have not completely severed our ties with James Rispoli and James Rispoli Racing even though we do not agree with the decision to stay down in Supersport but we respect their decision.
