AMA Pro Vance and Hines XR1200 team wforacingonline.com to compete in 90th running of Pikes Peak International Hill Climb Race to the Clouds Milwaukee, Wi. – AMA Pro Vance and Hines XR1200 team wforacingonline.com is pleased to announce their entry for the 90th running of the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb has been accepted and approved by the PPIHC Competition Committee. The team is now invited to compete at the historic racing event (second oldest only to the Indianapolis 500) over the 4th of July weekend. Team Principal and former Battle of the Twins National Champion Wes Orloff will be riding the XR1200 normally fielded by Shawn Higbee in the AMA Pro Racing Vance and Hines XR1200 Series. For the first time in the 90 year history of the race, the course will be entirely paved. The team will be competing in the 1205cc class for 1 piece handlebar equipped production based motorcycles. The class has recently been dominated by Ducati Multistrada riders, including last years winner Carlin Dunne who holds the overall motorcycle record over the treacherous 12.42 mile, 156 turn course at 11:11:329. The Team wforacingonline.com XR1200 will be only lightly modified from AMA Pro Racing spec to work better at altitude. The course start line is situated at 9,390 ft. above sea level while the finish line is at an incredible 14,110 ft. The team will be running an in-house designed wide range feedback fuel injection system using Innovate Motorsports components. Team Principal Wes Orloff: “I am really excited to race the wforacingonline.com XR1200 at Pikes Peak this year. I will definitely be able to cross this one off my bucket list. It’s going to be a huge challenge racing the big Harley up the mountain. With the help of our sponsors, I think we can make the XR competitive at altitude. We plan on taking our time learning the course and sneaking up on our race pace. There is just no room for error.” The 156 turn course includes the infamous “bottomless pit” corner with zero run off and a 1700 ft. sheer drop, as well as track surface temperatures as low as 27 deg F (in July). “We will try our best, but the primary goal is to bring the bike and rider back in 1 piece!” About wforacingonline.com: wforacingonline.com is a Mukwonago, Wisconsin based motorcycle road race team dedicated to the racing and fabrication of Buell and Harley-Davidson Sportster based motorcycles. The team’s pikes peak effort is sponsored by Innovate Motorsports, Wiseco Piston, Advanced Sleeve, Cometic Gasket, Traxxion Dynamics, Syn-3 Synthetic Oil, Vanson Leathers, Shorai Batteries, Spider Grips, Vance and Hines, Motowerks Custom Fabrication, and CJ Designs.
