Matt DiPonio went to last weekend’s Fastrack Riders track-day event at Auto Club Speedway, in Fontana, California, to have fun riding his Ducati 848 on the racetrack. During the weekend the 33-year-old medical device sales representative from Palm Desert, California, decided to make a donation to the Roadracing World Action Fund and take a few laps as a passenger on Chris Ulrich’s M4 Suzuki GSX-R1000 two-seat Superbike. DiPonio said he wanted “to see the lines the fast guys use around the track. The ride was awesome, so fast!” His $50 donation also entered DiPonio in a special drawing for a $500 prize package of Lucas Oil Products, and out of the dozens of entries received at the racetrack and online, DiPonio’s name was drawn as the winner.
