Monster Energy Graves Yamaha rider Josh Herrin has pledged to donate the purse money he wins for his first AMA Pro Superbike podium finish to the Roadracing World Action Fund. Herrin, a front-runner in the AMA Pro Daytona SportBike class for the last three seasons, will be a rookie in the AMA Pro National Guard Superbike class in 2012. Herrin, an avid user of social media, made the announcement late Wednesday via his Facebook page, writing: “I have decided today that whatever AMA prize money I get for my first Superbike podium I will donate to the RoadracingWorld.com Action Fund to encourage and facilitate the use of soft air barriers at motorcycle racing events!” The Roadracing World Action Fund is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that is dedicated to promoting motorcycle racing safety and helping to prevent injuries at the race track by encouraging and facilitating the use of soft barriers. Established in 2001, the Fund has raised nearly $800,000 to deploy, transport and maintain soft barriers and has prevented injuries and saved lives, according to its website ~http://actionfund.roadracingworld.com/~.
